Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking a paraprofessional and behavior interventionist to support students with special needs in Fremont, CA. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, building trust and providing a nurturing learning environment under the guidance of lead educators.

Candidates should have college credits or degrees (CBEST welcomed) and be prepared for state and federal background checks. The role is non-exempt with hourly pay and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Passion for education and putting students first
• Empathetic nature with a growth mindset
• College credits, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree (CBEST)
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
• State & federal background checks are required

Responsibilities

• Work closely with students with special needs in small group or 1:1 settings
• Build rapport and trust with the children in your care
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Take direction from lead educators and assist when needed
• Assist in various mod to severe scenarios in the classroom such as toileting, personal 1:1 care, non-verbal, or challenging behaviors
