Job summary

Sycamore Canyon School in Santee, California seeks a Paraeducator – Behavior Intervention to assist a certificated teacher in delivering behavior and academic interventions, supporting students academically, socially, and behaviorally, and performing clerical duties.

The role requires two years' related experience or transferable skills, along with First Aid/CPR and District proficiency testing eligibility. Hours are 8:15 am–3:00 pm, 9 months per year, with a pay rate of $19.94 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school graduation and two years' experience or transferable skills in an instructional setting with children with disabilities.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• District Paraprofessional Proficiency Exam eligibility via AA/48 college units or district proficiency test.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by reinforcing instruction to whole class, small groups and/or individuals.
• Assist with adaptive equipment and activities of daily living.
• Administer first aid and monitor medical needs of students.
• Maintain records and collect data on student performance and behavior.
• Supervise students during structured and unstructured times and communicate progress.
