Responsibilities

  • Support instruction for individual students or small groups with special needs.
  • Assist students in prescribed learning activities and monitor behavior.
  • Deliver one-on-one ABA-based interventions as outlined in student plans.
  • Implement therapy plans developed by Behavior Intervention and Education Specialists.
  • Observe, record, and report behavioral data according to procedures.
  • Provide adaptive support with eating and toileting as needed.
  • Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, supervision, and safety.

This team member supports in fostering students’ independence, social-emotional growth, and academic success through positive behavior intervention techniques and a collaborative approach with teachers, specialists, and families. **Key Responsibilities*** Supporting instruction for individual students or small groups with special needs as assigned* Assist students in prescribed learning activities* Monitor student behavior and apply approved behavior management techniques to redirect and modify challenging behaviors* Deliver one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions as outlined in student plans* Implement therapy plans developed by Behavior Intervention and Education Specialists* Observe, record, and report behavioral data in accordance with established procedures* Maintain confidentiality and positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families* Perform related duties as assigned to support the success of all students* Monitoring student behavior and utilizing approved behavior management techniques to redirect and modify inappropriate behaviors* Administering one-on-one ABA-based Intensive Behavior Intervention methods to designated students in a school setting (as necessary)* Implementing documented therapy plans for Behavior Intervention treatment.* Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students* Provide adaptive support with eating and toileting* Performing additional related tasks as needed.## QualificationsRequired* Associate’s degree or completion of two years of college coursework (minimum of 48 semester units)* One year experience or volunteer experience working students with disabilities, including students with autism* Training and experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other behavior intervention techniquesPreferred* Experience in school-based settings supporting diverse learners* BII or RBT certification (Registered Behavior Technician)* Strong interpersonal and communication skills* Maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and can-do attitude.*Compensation is aligned to the CWC LA Support Staff Rate Table and is based on relevant professional experience.*
