Job summary

Cross Country Education in Manhattan Beach, CA seeks a Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BII) to provide one-on-one and small group instructional and behavioral support for students with special education needs, reinforcing classroom instruction and promoting growth.

You will implement IEPs and BSPs, monitor progress, assist with daily living activities, and collaborate with teachers to prepare materials and encourage engagement and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Experience supporting students with special education needs in educational or behavioral settings; ability to assist with personal care and consistent attendance.
• Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.

Position Overview

• Provide one-on-one and small group instructional and behavioral support to students with special education needs, reinforcing classroom instruction and promoting academic, social, and functional growth.
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), utilizing evidence-based behavioral strategies while monitoring student progress and documenting outcomes.
• Assist students with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and community-based learning as needed, while maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to prepare instructional materials, support classroom activities, and encourage positive student engagement and independence.

Qualifications
