Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks an Educational Assistant - Behavior & Instruction at Briggs Middle School to support teachers and students in a dynamic, diverse classroom environment.

The role focuses on behavior management, 1:1 and small-group instruction, and academic support for students with varying needs. This is a part-time position with a starting date in September and a pay range of $19.62–$25.82 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher or two years post‑secondary with 72 credits, or GED with readiness knowledge.
• Ability to assist in reading, language arts, writing and math readiness.
• Experience or training in behavior management or instructional support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to teachers and support one-on-one or small groups.
• Assist with behavior management, de‑escalation, and social-emotional support.
• Support for students with special needs and/or adaptive equipment.
• Complete district logs, forms and attendance reporting as required.
• Maintain student discipline and assist with safety during transport and activities.
