Job summary

SESI Schools in Jefferson City, MO is seeking a behavior aide to support K-12 students requiring additional behavioral and academic supports. You will work with teachers to deliver individualized services, monitor progress, and reinforce learning using SESI’s PBIS framework.

Responsibilities include small group instruction, data-driven planning, and collaboration with staff to ensure safe, positive learning environments. Requires a high school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction and implement SESI’s academic rotation model.
• Collaborate with teachers to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning, assign tasks, and use data to tailor materials.
• Assist with large group activities, grading, and modifications as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and de‑escalation strategies; manage crises if necessary.
• Support daily plans and monitor student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during transit between locations.
• Collaborate with other staff to address students’ needs.
