Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs under IEP goals in our Saint Joseph, Missouri programs.

The role involves one-on-one student support, implementing behavior plans, data collection, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. You will use PBIS-informed strategies, assist with safety procedures, and help foster an inclusive learning environment while engaging families and school

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in educational settings with behavioral interventions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and document progress, incidents, and data.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis management to maintain safety.
• Support students and monitor them during transitions and activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
