Skaneateles Community Center in Skaneateles, NY is seeking a Before and After School Site Coordinator to provide a safe, nurturing environment for school-age children before and after school and during school breaks. The Coordinator will work with the SACC Director to plan activities, ensure licensing paperwork is complete, and supervise play to promote positive interactions.

Responsibilities include supervising children, organizing activities, managing check-in/out, communicating with parents

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in relevant fields preferred.
  • Experience with children in childcare, summer camps, or classroom settings preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Friendly, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple children with differing needs and energy levels.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Summary:


The Before and After School Site Coordinatoris responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school age children before and after school and on break weeks or days off from school. The Coordinator will work directly with the SACC Director in developing , planning and implementing daily activities. They will be responsible for ensuring licensing paperwork is completed ,recorded and kept on file . They will take on the role of the SACC Director if the SACC Director is away from the program . They will actively engage in supervision of play, ensures children's safety, and promotes positive social interactions in accordance with facility guidelines.



Key Responsibilities:


Supervision & Safety



  • Actively monitor and care for school age children.

  • Maintain a clean, secure, and child-friendly environment

  • Ensuring along with the SACC Director that all licensing program standards are met by staff to include but are not limited to , training , ratios ,schedules of staff , sign in and sign out .

  • Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures.



Engagement & Interaction



  • Organize and lead age-appropriate activities such as games, sports, group activities , arts and crafts, special events and free play.

  • Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among children.

  • Provide comfort and basic care for children as needed .



Parent & Staff Communication



  • Greet parents/guardians, manage check-in and check-out procedures.

  • Communicate any concerns, behavioral issues, or incidents promptly and professionally.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and other staff to support child care program standards.



Facility Support



  • Sanitize toys, equipment, and play areas regularly in compliance with health standards.

  • Monitor supply inventory and inform supervisor of needs.

  • Follow all facility policies, licensing regulations, and COVID-19 safety protocols if applicable.



Qualifications:


Education & Experience



  • Associates Degree in Childhood Education , Physical Education ,Recreation ,Special Education ,Occupational Therapy preferred,

  • Experience working with children in child care setting ,summer camps or in the classroom preferred.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

  • Friendly, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple children with varying needs and energy levels.

  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
