Skaneateles Community Center in Skaneateles, NY seeks a School Age Enrichment Instructor to provide a safe, engaging environment for enrichment programs in Art, Music, STEM, STEAM and language areas. The instructor will supervise lessons, ensure safety, and promote positive social interactions per facility guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, teaching experience, CPR/First Aid certification, strong communication, and the ability to work with

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Special Education or Physical Education.
  • Proven experience in teaching Enrichment activities.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Friendly, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple children with varying needs and energy levels.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Actively teach and engage children ages 5-12 in Enrichment activities.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, child-friendly environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Organize and lead developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among children.
  • Greet parents/guardians, manage check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Communicate concerns or incidents promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and staff to support program standards.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and classroom areas regularly.
  • Monitor supply inventory and inform supervisor of needs.

Job Summary:

The School Age Enrichment Instructoris responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate safe, and engaging environment for School Age Enrichment programs. The Instructor will create , develop and implement Enrichment programs that will support in the areas of Art, Music, STEM, STEAM and the languages. The instructor will supervises the learning activity lessons ensure children's safety, and promotes positive social interactions in accordance with facility guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Safety
  • Actively teach and engage children ages 5-12 in Enrichment activities
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and child-friendly environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Engagement & Interaction
  • Organize and lead developmentally appropriate lessons and activities dependent on area of Enrichment
  • Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among children.
Parent & Staff Communication
  • Greet parents/guardians, manage check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Communicate any concerns, behavioral issues, or incidents promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other staff to support child care program standards.
Facility Support
  • Clean , and sanitize equipment, and classroom areas regularly in compliance with health standards.
  • Monitor supply inventory and inform supervisor of needs.
  • Follow all facility policies, licensing regulations, and COVID-19 safety protocols if applicable.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education,Recreation, Special Education or Physical Education
  • Proven experience in teaching, working in chosen Enrichment area of expertise
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Friendly, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills.
