City Center YMCA in Lancaster is seeking a Before and After Care Assistant Group Supervisor to power a safe, high-energy start and finish to kids’ school days on a split shift (6:45-8:30 AM and 3:00-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday). Pay is $15.00-$16.00/hour.

You will lead activities, supervise the classroom, reinforce positive behavior, and communicate with parents while completing required documentation. Certifications and clearances are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Must pass State Police, Child Abuse, NSOR and FBI clearances.
• Mandated Reporter training or ability to obtain.
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR & AED certification or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of early childhood education/child development and classroom management.

Your Mission

As a Before and After Care Assistant Group Supervisor at City Center YMCA (265 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster), you’ll help power a safe, high-energy start and finish to kids’ school days - on a consistent split shift (6:45-8:30 AM and 3:00-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday). Pay is $15.00-$16.00/hour.

You Will

• Lead engaging activities by following program plans and implementing curriculum
• Supervise children and the classroom
• Use positive guidance and reinforcement to support behavior and belonging
• Follow safety, emergency, and infection-control procedures
• Communicate clearly with children and parents; complete required documentation

You Bring

• Knowledge of early childhood education/child development and classroom management
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Mandated Reporter training (or ability to obtain)
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR & AED certification (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to pass State Police, Child Abuse, NSOR, and FBI clearances

After a mid-day break, you’re back for the after-school surge. The room fills with stories from the day, quick transitions, and that upbeat "we made it!" energy. You’ll close out by resetting the space, wrapping up notes, and handing off to parents so everyone leaves feeling confident, informed, and ready for tomorrow.

• Obtain a State Police, Child Abuse, NSOR and FBI certifications in addition to a negative Mantoux TB test and a physical.
