Job summary

YMCA seeks an enthusiastic before/after school academy counselor to work at an assigned site, guiding children with a focus on character development and Youth Development. You will coordinate activities, build relationships, and ensure safety and records compliance.

The role requires flexibility, reliable transport, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, with hours mainly before and after school, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage conflicts and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead children in before- and after-school settings following YMCA curriculum.
• Build relationships with staff, students, and parents; promote parent involvement.
• Maintain site records (attendance, forms, etc.) and attend meetings/trainings.
• Ensure safety procedures and emergency responses are followed.
