Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is hiring Before and After School Program Teachers for the 2026/2027 school year. Positions offer early morning and/or late afternoon shifts with potential Lead or Assistant roles.

Qualifications

• AA or two-year college equivalent; six months to one year childcare experience
• Ability to interact with people of all backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
• Working knowledge of computers and various software applications

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Coordinator in developing and leading daily lesson plans
• Prepare materials for daily activities
• Maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times
• Provide weekly lesson plans to parents
• Inform each participant’s parent about daily activities
• Supervise children across age groups
• Assist Site Supervisor with parent–teacher conferences as needed
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and materials in the classroom
