Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Caledonia, Michigan is hiring for the Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher. This position provides a safe, fun environment for children and assists in planning, developing, and implementing classroom activities.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with shifts 6:30 AM–9:00 AM and/or 2:15 PM–6:00 PM. Pay is $15.21–$19.01 per hour, non-exempt, part time (up to 25 hours/week), plus a $2/hour shift premium for staff working both before and after school hours in the

Qualifications

• Six months to one year youth development related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Ability and desire to work with school age children.

Responsibilities

• Assists Site Coordinator in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
• Prepares materials for daily activities.
• Maintains records of attendance, arrival, and departure times.
• Provides weekly lesson plans to parents.
• Provides information on individual activities to parents.
• Maintains supervision of children.
• Assists with parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and materials in the classroom.
