Job summary
YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in Lowell, Michigan is seeking an understanding and energetic Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher. The role supports morning and/or after-school programming at off-site school locations with a $2/hour shift premium for same-day hours.
Work hours typically 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM and/or 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Compensation ranges from $15.21 to $19.01 hourly, part-time up to 25 hours/week, with benefits including a free YMCA membership and retirement savings
Qualifications
- Six months to one year youth development related experience.
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
- Ability and desire to work with school age children.
Responsibilities
- Assists Site Coordinator in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
- Prepares materials for daily activities.
- Maintains records of attendance, arrival, and departure times.
- Provides weekly lesson plans to parents.
- Provides each participant’s parent with information on individual activities.
- Maintains supervision of children.
- Assists Site Supervisor with parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Maintains supplies, equipment, and materials in the classroom.
