Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in Lowell, Michigan is seeking an enthusiastic Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher to support safe, engaging activities at off-site school locations.

Hours vary with weekday shifts from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM; pay ranges $15.21–$19.01 per hour for part-time work (up to 25 hours/week) with a $2 shift premium for days with both before and after hours.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year youth development related experience.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Ability and desire to work with school age children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
• Prepare materials for daily activities.
• Maintain attendance, arrival, and departure records.
• Provide weekly lesson plans to parents.
• Communicate daily activity information to parents.
• Supervise children during program hours.
• Assist Site Supervisor with parent-teacher conferences.
• Maintain classroom supplies and equipment.
