Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in Middleville, Michigan, is hiring a Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher to support school-age programming at off-site locations. The role requires early morning and/or late afternoon hours, with a $2/hour shift premium for overlapping before/after hours in the same day.

Responsibilities include assisting in lesson planning, preparing activity materials, and maintaining attendance records.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year youth development related experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds and ages.
• Ability and desire to work with school-age children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and leading daily lesson plans with the Site Coordinator.
• Prepare materials for daily activities and manage attendance records.
• Provide weekly lesson plans to parents and communicate activity details daily.
• Supervise children and support parent-teacher conferences as needed.
