Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Head Teacher for the Horace W. Porter School in Columbia, CT for the 2026-2027 year.

The role supports before and after school programs, with a focus on learning-through-play and positive guidance. The position offers part-time, non-exempt hours following the school calendar, and includes employer-paid childcare for eligible children, plus benefits such as telehealth, vision, dental, 401(k), and sick time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with relevant supervised experience.
• CDA Credential and 1,080 hours’ experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• Minimum of 12 credits in ECE/Child Development with 1,080 hours of supervised experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, arts, homework).
• Maintain a safe, healthy, engaging environment and serve as a positive role model.
• Adhere to state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations including attendance, registration, and staffing.
