Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Head Teacher for our Before and After School Programs at Horace W. Porter School (Columbia, CT) for the 2026-2027 year.

The role runs part-time, follows the school calendar, with morning and/or afternoon sessions, and offers employer-paid childcare benefits. Responsibilities include delivering engaging activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum, ensuring child safety, and supporting attendance and staffing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• CDA Credential and at least 1,080 hours of supervised experience with children.
• Minimum 12 credits in ECE/Child Development with 1,080 hours of supervised experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework support).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
• Observe state guidelines and program policies.
• Support program operations including attendance, registration, and staffing.
