North Saint Paul Maplewood & Oakdale School District 622 is seeking a Childcare Paraeducator Substitute to support before and after-school programming for students in grades K–5. The role involves supervising children, leading age-appropriate activities, and ensuring a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

16 years of age or older.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with implementing engaging activities for school-age children.
Foster a safe, inclusive environment where students feel welcome and supported.
Build positive working relationships with school personnel, site staff, and families.
Prepare materials and spaces for daily programming.
Supervise activities including arts, crafts, games, STEM, gym, and field trips.
Support behavior guidance using positive reinforcement and district practices.
Maintain program records and document behavior support plans as directed.
Prepare and serve snacks following health and safety guidelines.
Perform light housekeeping and keep spaces organized.
Follow all district policies and safety guidelines.
