Job summary

St. Rose of Lima School in Chula Vista, CA is seeking an Extended Daycare staff member to coordinate before and after school activities for K-8 students. The part-time role runs 6:30am–8:00am or 2:30pm–6:00pm, under the direction of the Principal, with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour.

You will assist with homework, supervise activities, communicate with parents at drop-off/pick-up, and maintain a safe environment while following school safety policies. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with elementary school age children.
• Be a self-starter and perform the job with little supervision.
• Possess or attain CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Ability to multitask and cope with a stressful environment.
• Active, practicing Roman Catholic (required).
• Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Assist students, individually or in small groups with homework assignments.
• Monitor individual and/or group activities in a variety of settings.
• Communicate with the parents through daily drop off and pick up.
• Maintain a safe environment for students.
• Follow and enforce all safety policies.
• Assist with student check-in/out.
• Perform other jobs/tasks/duties deemed necessary for a smooth functioning program as assigned by the principal.
• Keep the room neat and orderly.
• Report any incidents and behavioral problems to the principal.
