Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools is seeking a Before/After Care Assistant at Dixon Road Elementary School in Willow Spring, NC. The position operates on a temporary hourly basis with shifts from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:15 PM to 6:00 PM, reporting to the Principal.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
• Ability to solve minor problems and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the assigned location and in other locations (hallway, playground, etc.).
• Promotes student self-esteem; teaches citizenship, social skills, and respect for others.
• Reconciles minor student conflicts.
• Reports discipline problems to appropriate staff member.
• Reports significant change or lack of change in student behavior.
• Supports and exhibits organization core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
