Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools is seeking a part-time Before/After School Care staff member for Cooper Academy in Clayton, North Carolina. Shifts run 6:30 AM–8:30 AM and 4:15 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through school days as posted.

Reports to the Principal and works within the after-school program with duties including academic assistance and behavior monitoring. Qualifications include working knowledge of methods for engaging with children and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reconciles minor student conflicts.
• Reports discipline problems to appropriate staff member.

• Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organization core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.

• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
