Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County is seeking Before and After School Assistant Teachers to support children in several school districts, including Alliance, Northwest Canton, Canton City, Jackson, North Canton, Lake (Hartville), Louisville, Perry, Plain, and Minerva. The role runs 6-9am and/or 2:30-6:30pm, depending on school district.

Applicants should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a professional role model for children by leading through example and ensuring safety and proper supervision.
• Participate in and lead activities with students, including arts and crafts, sports, STEM, and social-emotional skills.
• Partner with parents, school staff, and administrators to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Be part of a collaborative team focused on teaching teamwork and supporting children as they grow and learn.

Before and After School Assistant Teachers who have a passion for working with children and their families in a caring, educational setting that is rooted in the mission of the YMCA, a non-profit, charity organization. Possible opportunities available in elementary schools and Y branches in Alliance, Northwest, Canton City, Jackson, North Canton, Lake (Hartville), Louisville, Perry, Plain and Minerva school districts.

Hours/Shift:

Monday through Friday 6-9am and/or 2-630PM (exact hours vary by school district)

Pay Rate: $12.35 /HR

Who Are We Looking For?

Individuals who will...

• Serve as a professional role model for children grades K-5 by leading through example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors and creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision of all.

• Partner and build relationships with parents, school employees, administration and other adults in order to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Be a part of an amazing team of staff focused on teaching teamwork and social skills, and supporting children as they grow and learn.

• Execute State Licensing and Step Up to Quality requirements in order to provide a quality care environment.
