Job summary

The YMCA operates locally in Alliance and surrounding districts, seeking Before and After School Assistant Teachers who are passionate about working with children and families in a caring, educational setting anchored to the YMCA mission.

Hours are typically 6-9am and/or 2-6:30pm, Monday through Friday, with opportunities across Alliance, Northwest, Canton City, Jackson, North Canton, Lake Hartville, Louisville, Perry, Plain and Minerva districts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Completed high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a professional role model for children in K-5 by promoting safe, healthy behaviors and ensuring proper supervision.
• Lead activities with students including arts and crafts, sports, STEM, character education, and social-emotional skills.
• Partner with parents, school staff, administration, and other adults to foster a supportive environment for each child.
• Be part of a team focused on teaching teamwork and social skills and supporting children as they grow and learn.
• Ensure compliance with State Licensing and Step Up to Quality requirements for a quality care environment.

In search of:

Before and After School Assistant Teachers who have a passion for working with children and their families in a caring, educational setting that is rooted in the mission of the YMCA, a non-profit, charity organization. Possible opportunities available in elementary schools and Y branches in Alliance, Northwest, Canton City, Jackson, North Canton, Lake (Hartville), Louisville, Perry, Plain and Minerva school districts.

Hours/Shift:

Monday through Friday 6-9am and/or 2-630PM (exact hours vary by school district)

Pay Rate: $12.35 /HR

*Complimentary Y membership and discounted rates for child care and programs also included.

Who Are We Looking For?

Individuals who will...
