Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Caledonia, Michigan, is hiring an Assistant Teacher for before and after school programs. The role requires early morning and late afternoon shifts, with a $2/hour premium when both time blocks are worked in one day.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year youth development related experience.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Ability and desire to work with school age children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
• Prepare materials for daily activities.
• Maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times.
• Provide weekly lesson plans to parents.
• Provide information on activities to parents daily.
• supervise children and classroom activities.
• Assist Site Supervisor with parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and materials in the classroom.
