Qualifications

• High school education or GED with preference for 2+ years in retail grocery and 1 year in a grocery department.

Responsibilities

• Manages department by adjusting orders to meet customer demands while maintaining freshness and minimizing shrink.
• Promotes strong customer relations by guiding associates to greet customers, answer questions and resolve issues promptly and politely.
• Operates the scanning equipment and cash register; performs checkout procedures and bagging.
• Schedules department associates and trains staff; recognizes and rewards performance.
• Follows store and legal guidelines for alcohol and other products at the register.
• Verifies deliveries against invoices; inspects products and stock; enforces rotation and proper stocking.
• Ensures proper shelving, pricing, and backroom organization per 5S standards.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
• Supervises all department associates and may lead store operations in absence of store management.
