Job summary

JBS Plainwell in Michigan is seeking a Quality Assurance & Food Safety leader to drive food safety across the harvest floor and ensure USDA-FSIS compliance. You will lead Beef Modernization personnel, train staff, and provide technical oversight for quality programs across processing facilities.

The role requires deep knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory requirements, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to maintain a safe, efficient operation and high-quality

Qualifications

• BS in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in USDA or quality control.
• HACCP certification preferred.
• Knowledge of meat processing operations and HACCP prerequisites.
• Supervisory and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Team player with leadership skills.
• Ability to lead QA teams and drive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Drive food safety across the harvest floor.
• Ensure USDA/Food Safety compliance on harvest floor.
• Lead Beef Modernization personnel and training.
• Provide technical oversight for quality functions.
• Oversee training and measure understanding.
• Support HACCP, Preventative Controls, and audits.
• Monitor microbiological trends and sanitation performance.
• Develop and write quality control programs.
• Prepare and monitor SOPs for production areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
