Job summary

American Foods Group, LLC is seeking a team member for carcass and carcass part sorting to separate abnormal from normal items. You will identify defects, observe and incise carcasses, and ensure proper presentation to inspectors.

Training will be provided at hire and ongoing refreshers; candidate must work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and knowledge of beef anatomy to recognize parts of the carcass and digestive tract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of food safety and quality.
• Must complete training: Beef Modernization; Straight knife, steel, hook.

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass parts to determine abnormalities.
• Perform preparation (cuts) and presentation activities.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures.
• Notify the proper person if abnormal carcass or disease suspected during sorting.
• Attend training at hire and annual refresher training as needed.
• Must be willing to train and educate others.
