Job summary

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is seeking a Category Manager for Beef and Pork to drive pricing, assortment, and promotions across assigned categories. You will partner with stores, vendors and the procurement team to meet budgets and grow top-line sales while managing inventory and shrink.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Grocery industry experience required.
• Minimum 6 years professional experience.
• Preferred 5–7 years grocery category product experience in Natural Foods.
• Experience in meat category highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create pricing, promotion, assortment and shelf schematics for assigned category.
• Create yearly business plan and budgets by category based on initiatives and trends.
• Negotiate pricing, product assortment, promotion, ads, services with vendors; primary contact for vendors.
• Review category and department financials (P&L) monthly and ensure budgets and margins.
• Ensure store inventory levels meet standards and manage shrink controls at category level.
• Lead, train and develop store-level Department Managers and Operational Specialists.
• Design schematics and adjacencies to support category role and initiatives.
• Monitor promotional results and perform post-promo analysis.
