Fresh Thyme Market in Downers Grove is seeking a Category Manager to drive pricing, promotions, and assortment across assigned categories. You will act as the liaison between stores and vendors (including the DC) and support department managers with training and initiatives to improve customer value.

The role emphasizes Produce knowledge, analytics, and strong vendor partnerships to optimize margins, inventory, and shopper satisfaction. A hybrid schedule is required with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent Grocery industry experience required.
• Minimum of 6 years' professional experience in grocery retail.
• 5–7 years of grocery retail experience with Produce merchandising, category management, pricing, promotions, and assortment planning.
• Strong Produce knowledge, seasonality, and consumer trends; familiarity with profit and loss implications.

Responsabilités

• Create pricing, promotion, assortment and shelf schematics based on performance, trends and best practices.
• Develop yearly business plans and budgets by category aligned with initiatives.
• Negotiate with vendors on pricing, product assortment, ads and calendars; primary contact for assigned categories.
• Review monthly P&L and budgets to ensure sales and margin targets are met.
• Manage store inventory levels and drive category performance through assortment and merchandising.
