Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III for the Boston-area outpatient services. The role focuses on bedside discharge prescription processing, coordination with the outpatient pharmacy, and ensuring accurate dispensing prior to discharge.

The incumbent will support a patient-centric approach, maintain high AIDET standards, and provide training to Technicians I & II. Part-time schedule in a hospital setting with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills; strong pharmaceutical calculation ability.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy and hold national CPT or exCPT certification.

Responsibilities

• Capture and support discharge prescription requests in assigned area.
• Coordinate prescriptions into outpatient pharmacy, adjudicate with insurance, and prepare for dispensing.
• Provide professional, patient-centered interactions and uphold AIDET standards.
• Ensure processing tasks are accurate and reviewed before dispensing.
• Train and oversee Technicians I & II; participate in quality assurance and safety procedures.
