Job summary

Memorial Hospital of Gardena is seeking a Bed Control Coordinator RN to optimize patient throughput by matching clinical needs with available units and coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges.

In this role you will monitor census, work with unit nurses and case managers, and ensure beds are allocated efficiently while maintaining EMTALA compliance and patient communication per AIDET standards. A BSN is preferred; RN license required.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in ICU/CCU/ED preferred.
• Nursing House Supervisor experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Emphasis on patient flow, throughput, and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient acuity and assign to appropriate units.
• Monitor discharge lists and coordinate bed readiness with nurses and EVS.
• Monitor census and address capacity bottlenecks with leaders.
• Serve as liaison among providers, nursing, and administration for bed management.
