Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Bed Management/Patient Coordination Command Center to assess admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed assignments; collaborate with ED, surgery, PACU, cath lab; ensure efficient bed flow, patient safety, and resource utilization. Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent and Illinois RN license.
• 1–2 years clinical/bed management experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess admissions, discharges and transfers to optimize bed use.
• Collaborate with ED, surgery, PACU, cath lab on bed placement.
• Maintain bed board data and monitor capacity for throughput.
• Support risk reduction and patient safety through decisions.
• Coordinate assignments to the most appropriate beds in a timely manner.
• Lead and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Model professional behavior and assist with staff development.
