Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinating bed assignments for admissions, ED admissions, direct admissions, and transfers.
• Monitoring and updating the electronic bed board to maintain accurate bed availability and assignments.
• Communicating with nursing units to facilitate timely patient placement and support patient throughput.
• Completing daily and nightly census reports and preparing admission summaries and surgical admission lists.
• Maintaining records of bed assignments, private room requests, and future admissions or outside hospital transfers.
• Monitoring patient discharges and updating bed availability in the system.
• Supporting unit specialty requirements when assigning available beds.
• Responding to patient and department needs while balancing priorities and turnaround-time goals.
• Handling incoming calls promptly and courteously and providing appropriate information.
• Maintaining confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient information per hospital policies.
