Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Pastry Cook at The Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, AL. You will bake and decorate a variety of desserts, contribute to menu development, and help manage pastry inventory in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Culinary certificate or degree is preferred for advancement.
• An associate degree in pastry arts or a culinary certificate is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create and bake a wide variety of desserts and pastries following traditional and new recipes.
• Decorate desserts with frosting, glazes, and toppings for appealing presentations.
• Contribute ideas for menu development and create custom desserts.
• Manage inventory and order ingredients and supplies for the pastry section.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic workspace and assist in kitchen staff management as needed.
• Keep accurate records of food costs and inventory.
