Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach Oceanfront is hiring a friendly Bistro Attendant to join our food & beverage team. You will take orders, serve meals and drinks, handle payments, and keep the dining area tidy according to hotel standards.

Excellent English communication and a friendly, guest-oriented approach are essential. Previous hospitality or serving experience is a plus and TIPS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Must have good English language skills and previous guest/customer relations training.
• Liquor, wine and food service certification preferred.
• TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certification preferred or obtained by first day on the job.
• Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sale system.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders and serve to guest tables.
• Retrieve and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food orders.
• Collect payments from customers.
• Maintain the Restaurant area and equipment.
• Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age.
• Describe menus and answer questions about items.
• Garnish and decorate dishes as required.
• Assist host/hostess with reservations and seating.
