Job summary

Golub Capital is seeking a Financial Accountant for the BDC Fund Accounting department in Chicago. You will manage accounting for one or more BDC funds, including month-end closes, forecasting, and investor reporting, while supporting external audits and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong foundation in accounting, Excel proficiency, and the ability to navigate complex fund structures. A Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance is required and CPA is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA strongly encouraged.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in private equity / leveraged finance / hedge fund or similar.
• Proficiency in Excel required; proficiency in PowerPoint, Wall Street Office, Workday or other GL packages is a strong plus.
• Strong accounting skills and instincts.
• Comfortable working in a fluid environment under the direction of various managers.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to operationalize complex agreements and account for investments, incentive fee arrangements and partner allocations.
• Ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly while seeking assistance from a strong peer group.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work, with critical thinking to assess outputs.
• Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and optimize automated entries.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly close packages for senior management.
• Prepare quarterly and annual forecasts and investor reports.
• Assist Investor Communications with capital calls, distributions and IRR statements.
• Understand BDC structure and debt facilities; ensure SOX controls.
• Support external audits and cross-functional collaboration.
