Job summary

Bain & Company in Boston is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development to lead cross-partnership initiatives and day-to-day operations, aligning BD with Bain stakeholders to drive decisions and investments. The role requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the firm.

You’ll manage budgeting, team rhythm, and talent development, while coordinating external partnerships and cross-Bain programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience.
• Solid strategic and analytical toolkit.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with all levels throughout the organization.
• Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to operate in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

• Strategic projects (45%): drive cross-partnership investment decisions and identify ways to increase the partnership pipeline.
• Cross-partnership operations (25%): coordinate with senior stakeholders and external partners; prepare LT/affiliate materials.
• BD team operations (25%): manage budgeting, rhythm of business, training, and recruiting/onboarding support.
• Team & leadership (5%): foster inclusive environment, demonstrate leadership, and influence decision-making.
