Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking a Business Development Driver Manager to join the Marketing and Client Development team in Santa Monica. The role focuses on strengthening campaign execution, account planning, opportunity development, and pipeline discipline to drive coordinated BD and marketing activity.

Responsibilities include leading a team, developing briefing materials, managing lead flow with Marketing, and maintaining pipeline integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in marketing or business development.
• Proven BD skills: pipeline management and campaign execution.
• Strong CRM knowledge (Salesforce).
• Willingness to travel and to work extended hours.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen BD ground game by implementing structured processes for meetings and pipeline.
• Develop high-impact briefing materials and meeting prep strategies for partners and BD leaders.
• Collaborate with Marketing to manage lead flow and ensure opportunities are created from campaigns.
• Coordinate across Marketing, BD leaders, and Partners for clear handoffs and alignment.
• Translate internal discussions and client meetings into actionable plans with persistent follow-up.
• Oversee activity tracking and opportunity status for senior leadership reviews.
• Refine BD support to create scalable systems and reduce friction.
• Direct supervision and mentorship of direct reports; support staffing and time management.
• Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, and other lifecycle events.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
