Job summary

The Neural Prosthetics Translational Laboratory (NPTL) at Stanford University seeks a Life Science Research Professional 1 to advance brain-computer interface research for restoring communication and movement in paralysis. You will join a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, engineers, clinicians, and computer scientists working on neural decoding technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Psychology, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience in neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, computational neuroscience, machine learning, signal processing, speech and language research, or related fields.
  • Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, or similar scientific computing languages.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis, machine learning, or neural data analysis is desirable.
  • Experience working with human subjects research and/or clinical research is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate scientific records.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute human neuroscience experiments.
  • Analyze neural and behavioural datasets using computational methods.
  • Assist in developing and evaluating neural decoding algorithms.
  • Help disseminate scientific findings through presentations and publications.
