Job summary

Paradromics, Inc. is seeking a Research Engineer to develop software for brain-computer interface applications. You will design and implement software to restore communication for BCI users and support clinical studies of the Connexus System.

You will work closely with scientists and engineers, contributing to data curation, decoding algorithms, and performance testing across simulated and real neural data. Occasional travel between Austin and Oakland offices is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent real-world experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Highly proficient in Python.
• Experience with Rust, C++, or Go and collaborating with ML practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Develop data curation strategies for user interaction and BCI data.
• Realize BCI decoding algorithms as performant software.
• Evaluate software with simulated and real neural data and with BCI hardware in the loop.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to new features and tools.
• Work with engineering, neuroscience, and quality teams to identify needs and requirements.
• Regularly travel between Austin and Oakland offices.
