Job summary

TrulyHired in Georgetown, SC is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide behavior analysis services for Special Education students and to support staff, families, and administrators with ABA-based strategies.

You will develop assessments and plans compliant with IDEA and state regulations, train staff, and collaborate with district teams to implement effective interventions for students with autism and related disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Certified with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
  • Must maintain BACB credentialing and complete continuing education as outlined by the BACB.
  • Experience with ASD and public schools preferred.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop materials and provide training in ABA and other evidence-based methods for staff and families.
  • Plan and oversee programs and policies using ABA for students with autism and other disabilities.
  • Create and modify individualized behavior plans and ABA programs with district staff.
  • Administer assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, FBA/FA) in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with the IEP team and district staff.
  • Collect data and prepare reports documenting history, assessments, and treatment.
  • Coordinate with agencies to support pro-social skills and family-student services.

Job Summary

To provide behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for Special Education students enrolled in educational programs; provide support and professional learning to school site staff, technicians, para-educators, and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques; conduct assessments and develop plans that conform to IDEA, South Carolina Law and regulations and other applicable statues and regulations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum master's degree in accredited college in Special Education, Psychology, or related area of discipline
  • Certified with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board
  • Must maintain credentialing in compliance with the BACB
  • Must complete continuing education courses as outlined by the BACB
  • Expertise in the field and knowledge of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), experience working in public schools is preferred
  • Exhibit superior organizational skills
Essential Duties
  • Develop materials and provide training, resources, and professional learning to administrators, educators, para-educators, and parents/guardians in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties
  • Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based methodologies for students with autism and other disabilities
  • Create and assist district staff with the development and implementation of positive behavior management interventions or individualized behavior plans, ABA programs and other appropriate programs for students with Autism and/or other disabilities that present behavior/learning challenges
  • Administer and assist district staff with assessments including VBMAPP, BLAF, Functional Assessments, and Functional Analysis in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Attend IEP meetings including eligibility, annual reviews, special reviews, and manifestation determination meetings
  • Confer with members of the IEP team and District staff and other related team members, individually at an IEP meeting or in conferences, to exchange, discuss and evaluate student information for planning, and modifying and coordination of educational treatment programs
  • Collect data and prepare a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history, assessments, and treatment
  • Collaborate with public and private agencies to offer programs that foster pro-social skills and prevent violent behavior for the purpose of providing services to strengthen families as well as students
Support and Provide Autism Support Services
  • Conduct initial assessment/evaluation and create an individualized education plan for each child on caseload as needed
  • Support least restrictive learning environment for each student
  • Facilitate natural environment training when appropriate
  • Train behavior technicians on child's program
  • Directly observe treatments administered by behavior technicians
  • Conduct regular analysis of data and make necessary program modifications
  • Complete progress and quarterly reports
  • Conduct/assist with annual assessments and report on students' present levels
  • Review technicians' implementation of program, documentation, and data collection for each student's individualized program and provide feedback/follow up as needed
  • Complete initial Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and maintain ongoing supervision
  • Provide regular continuing education to technicians/RBTs on applied behavior analysis, assessments, ethics, and other related topics
  • Prepare and conduct staff performance and program reviews with the Executive Director of Special Services for possible changes and updates to program
  • Coordinate with technicians to create and maintain caseloads/schedules and access material needs
Other Functions
  • Travel from school to school
  • Provide consultative BCBA/BCBA support services for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD)
  • Perform related duties as assigned
