Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is assisting a global technology organization in finding a Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer for a hybrid role in the San Jose Bay Area. You will work with AI developers and robotics partners to integrate intelligent applications onto robotic platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on robot integration, software development in Python and ROS2, and partner-facing consulting, with opportunities to influence platform features and future deployments across partner sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required; master’s welcomed.
• Minimum 4 years of professional robotics engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with robotic arms/manipulators and integration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for AI and robotics partners during onsite engagements.
• Develop production-quality software using Python, ROS2, Linux, and CLI tools to connect partner apps with robotic systems.
• Integrate, configure, test, and troubleshoot robotic arms and manipulators; support autonomous mobile platforms.
• Diagnose issues across software, hardware, sensors, networking, and motion control areas.
• Collaborate with partners to design platform capabilities and provide reusable tools and guidance.
• Support perception and learning-based technologies and relay partner feedback to internal teams.
