Job summary

Playworks in Oakland/Bay Area seeks a Development Director to design and drive the Northern California fundraising strategy, lead donor cultivation, and oversee external relations. Based in the Oakland offices, this role involves high-level portfolio management, board collaboration, and regional growth initiatives.

The position requires 5+ years in development, leadership experience, and fluency with fundraising databases (Salesforce).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, public administration, or a comparable field.
• Have a high degree of comfort with Salesforce or other fundraising database.
• Experience leading fundraising strategy and donor stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement the regional fundraising strategy and revenue plans.
• Manage high-level donor relationships and portfolios including major gifts.
• Lead, develop, and mobilize regional fundraising team and boards to meet goals.
• Oversee external relations, communications, and brand elevation for Playworks in Northern California.
• Travel region-wide for in-person meetings and site visits across the Bay Area.
