Job summary

The SEIU Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) is seeking a Northern California Deputy Regional Director based in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area. The role reports to the UC Director and focuses on implementing internal organizing plans across UC chapters.

You will supervise Contract Organizers, lead campaigns, and collaborate with strategic campaigns, legal, and communications teams to advance bargaining power for residents and interns.

Qualifications

• Eight years or more of organizing experience in the labor movement.
• At least two years’ of experience leading or supervising staff.
• Must manage with labor movement values and improve as a manager.
• Healthcare organizing experience in public and private sectors is preferred.
• Ability to build relationships with allies, elected officials, and hospital admins.

Responsibilities

• Oversee UC internal organizing strategy and representation across Northern California chapters.
• Supervise Contract Organizers.
• Lead statewide/local direct action campaigns building union power.
• Provide written communications and reports to members, CIR leadership and staff.
• Track and maintain accurate records and databases.
