Job summary

Ecobat is seeking an operator to feed batteries to wrecker and assist in wrecker operations by processing material to make furnace feed. The role requires handling batteries, loading and moving materials, and maintaining safety and cleanup in a loud, outdoor environment.

Responsibilities include using forklift, preparing conveyors, and performing pre-hire safety trainings. First shift (overnights) and strict PPE usage are expected.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience operating Forklift, Loader and Skid steer.
• HS Diploma or GED minimum.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Unload batteries from trucks.
• Ensure doors and equipment are closed to maintain negative pressure.
• Prepare roller conveyors to move batteries into the conveyor system.
• Use forklift to position batteries from trucks into conveyor system.
• Stack materials to prevent spills.
• Clean truck area, dock and sump areas.
• Pressure wash equipment and record cleaning per SOP; clean up tracked materials.
• Break up oversized batteries using cutting tools or forklifts.
• Use hand tools to clean equipment and prep batteries for feeding.
• Operate Bailer as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
