Ascentek is seeking a Battery Technician Operator for first shift in our Minnesota warehouse. You will handle shipping tasks, operate forklifts, maintain inventory, and ensure safe handling of batteries.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills, with on-the-job training provided. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year in a warehouse setting, flexibility, and familiarity with WMS/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year warehouse experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and flexibility are important.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and pallet jacks to pick and load orders.
• Receive vendor receipts and transfers; inspect materials for nonconformities.
• Use warehouse management or ERP system to track inventory.
• Prepare and load shipments; wrap pallets and load trucks.
• Follow supervisor instructions and report any non-conformities.

The Battery Technician Operator is responsible for a variety of shipping tasks including small package shipping, picking orders, shipping orders, forklift operation including loading and unloading of trailers and the charging, packaging and processing of batteries. Maintain accurate inventory through the use of the warehouse management system. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and any tools, used in the warehouse to complete tasks.

• Using forklift and/or pallet jacks to pick orders
• Receiving of vendor receipts and transfers
• Inspection materials for nonconformities
• Use the warehouse management system
• Operate hand jack or forklift to load trucks
• Wrap pallets
• Preparation of hazardous materials for shipment
• Pack cartons correctly and stack cartons on pallets
• Follow work instructions as given by supervisor, line staff, or Quality Manual
• Report non-conformities to the supervisor

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience and/or Training:

• One or more years in warehouse setting recommended good attention to detail
• High Level of flexibility
• Knowledge of quality management system
• Knowledge of inspection processes
• Ability to follow English - written and verbal instructions
• Basic mathematical skills

Licenses/Certificates:

• Forklift certification recommended not required. Will certify within the Ascentek safety guidelines

Technology/Equipment:

• Knowledge of WMS or ERP system preferred, not required

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently asked to speak, hear, stand, sit, and/or use both hands to handle, or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend, distinguish colors or use repetitive movement for certain tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry 25 to 60 lbs. occasionally and lift more than 60lbs. intermittently. PPE will be used while filling forklift and pallet rider batteries. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Noise level is moderate to loud. Although the warehouse is climate controlled, the employee will need to be able to adapt to different climate changes.

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $22.00 to $25.00 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
