Job summary

Interstate Batteries is hiring a Warehouse Team Member II in California to help maintain a well-stocked, organized warehouse and support Route Service Managers. The role involves loading/unloading batteries, restocking, operating a forklift, and ensuring safety and accurate reporting.

You will occasionally cover NAC Delivery and drive responsibilities as needed. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year warehouse experience, good communication, and a solid understanding of shipping regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems (required).
• Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift.
• Must have a clean driver record and meet driver qualifications requirements.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload batteries.
• Restock batteries.
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations.
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries.
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
• Operate a forklift and motor vehicle.
• Run the Hot Shots on a timely basis as needed.
• Fill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM, as needed.
• Collect and handle payments on account (cash, checks and money orders).
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Follow/fulfill driver program requirements as specified by the manager.
• Other duties as requested.
