Ampcera is a US-based innovator and global leader in the development and characterization of solid electrolyte materials for next-generation solid-state batteries. Ampcera has a growing IP portfolio of high-performance engineered solid electrolyte materials, revolutionary scalable manufacturing processes, and novel designs for solid-state batteries.

Ampcera is seeking a Battery Scientist to accelerate the internal solid-state battery development.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate/optimize active materials by developing/sourcing novel material/processing and/or through active material surface/structure engineering.
• Establish/improve test methods to rapidly screen active materials and identify their interactions with other cell components in solid-state batteries (SSBs).
• Design/develop strategies to enhance overall solid-state battery performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet target requirements.
• Write technical reports and develop standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Experience in the development & optimization of SSBs.
• In-depth knowledge in characterization and evaluation methods related to SSBs.
• Experience in electrode processing (wet, dry).
• Experience in producing and testing SSB pouch cells.
• Experience in managing/mentoring engineers and technicians.
• Meticulous, organized, and self-motivated.
• Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Capable of executing multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment with strong work ownership.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Acute safety awareness.
• Pass drug test and criminal background check.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Capable of lifting 50 lbs. with the assistance of lift equipment or cart.
• Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, masks, respirators, etc.
