Job summary

Storm4 is seeking a Battery Modeling Engineer to advance models for cell and pack performance, supporting next‑gen battery management, safety, degradation, and efficiency improvements across EVs and consumer applications.

You will collaborate with battery scientists, engineers, and software developers, using Python and MATLAB/Simulink to develop, validate, and deploy predictive algorithms, analyze test data, and translate insights into product enhancements.

Qualifications

• MS degree in a related engineering or electrochemistry field (PhD preferred).
• 3+ years experience modeling/testing battery cell and pack performance.
• Experience in EV/automotive or energy storage applications.
• Proficient in Python and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong knowledge of battery chemistry, cell design, degradation, and pack interactions.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance battery performance and degradation models for cell and pack applications
• Design and support algorithms using Python and MATLAB/Simulink
• Analyze battery test data and provide actionable engineering insights
• Validate and deploy prototype algorithms into commercial products
• Collaborate across engineering teams to improve battery performance, safety, and efficiency
• Prepare technical analyses and reports while contributing to product development initiatives
• Stay current with advancements in battery modeling, electrochemistry, degradation, and control systems
